The Trainee Technician will understand, learn and build capabilities associated with exemplary safety and technical competence in all matters pertaining to specific maintenance works on and around the vessel. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the GTTCI 18-month training program.
Program Description
Participants will be exposed to an intensive program that is focused on the fundamental technical knowledge required to work in the energy sector targeting four disciplines:
Production (Operation)
Mechanical
Instrumentation
Electrical
- It is an instructor-led training program and students are required to participate in classroom sessions, complete practical exercises and participate in various learning evaluations.
- The Trainee Technician program requires participants to be located offshore on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO).
- Any other area necessary for development.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience (for Training)
- Must have obtained at minimum a two-year technical certification (Technician Certificate) from a recognized institute of technical studies / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) minimum Level 2 (NVQ L2/ CVQ L2) / Candidates who hold a technical / engineering Diploma or technical /engineering degree will also be considered.
- Applicants must be Guyanese nationals.
- Minimum of two years relevant experience in the desired discipline being considered.
- Fluent in English (verbal & Written)
- Available to work standard offshore working hours (Monday – Sunday; 12 hours per day).
- Must be able to travel for training outside of Guyana and relocate to the Berbice area for 18 months.
- Must be medically fit, and able to pass the requisite medical examinations, including Drug & Alcohol testing, TB and OGUK.
